Hello to all our Georgia dealers! Winter is well on its way and now is a great time, while it’s cold outside, to look at ways to save on operations cost. I suggest you look at everything from light bills to advertising. Lots of changes, opportunities, and new vendors have come to our industry
and may save you some of your hard earned money!
Here are a few examples. Did you know that eBay dealercenter has a monthly advertising rate for 100 vehicles that you can run as national classifieds, 10 at any given time as 3 to 10 day auctions or just buy it now on a boosted
format? The cost range for this is in the $1700 range. They offer different programs for small and large inventories. Some power companies offer discounts on switching over to LEDs because they draw much lower power and pay for themselves in a short period of time.
Do you outsource or have in-house detailing? I suggest using both. Have your in-house detailer handle lot cleans, deliveries, and minor spiff ups and EZ cleans for retail. Send out the heavy stuff and big projects if you do not feel in-house staff is capable.
Finally, is your inventory parked straight, clean, and ready to sell? Is your landscaping right and tidy? These two things alone are probably among the least expensive ways to update and make your place look professional. Keep the projects and fixer uppers and parts laying around out back and out of sight! Are grass, weeds, gravel, asphalt, and oil stains out of control? This carelessness does not make you money. It costs you money!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and Christmas!
