Savannah with Kids: 4 Must-Do Adventures for Georgia Dealers and their Families

The 70th Anniversary GIADA Convention & Expo will be held in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, July 17-19. While the focus for dealers and associate members will be world-class education, networking and dealership growth, their families have a lot to look forward to, as well! Making the 70th anniversary a family affair ensures lasting memories (and still focuses on building your livelihood).

Your GIADA team has spent a lot of time in this famous coastal gem and our staff shares some of the must-do adventures for families. These activities blend Southern charm, hands-on fun, and plenty of fresh air.

  • Fairy Tale Squares & Outdoor Time: Parks and the Museum
Whether it’s your first time at a GIADA Convention & Expo in Savannah or your 50th (we know you are out there, OGs!), Savannah adventures should always start with a stroll (or scooter ride) through Forsyth Park, the city’s iconic green space. With wide walking paths, shady oak trees draped in Spanish moss, and that famous fountain at its center, it’s the perfect place to stretch your legs after a car ride or flight. Pack a picnic or grab coffee and pastries while the kids burn off energy on the playground or explore the open fields.

Another great stop is the Savannah Children’s Museum, a fully outdoor wonderland of interactive exhibits, climbing structures, and sensory activities. Housed in the old Central of Georgia Railway workshops, it’s part museum, part playground, and all imagination. This is a perfect stop for the family.

  • Art, Creativity and Wildlife
Does the family love art and creativity? Then a visit to the Jepson Center might be the ticket, where art meets play at the Telfair Children’s Art Museum. Here, kids can create their own masterpieces, explore interactive tech exhibits, or dive into hands-on installations in the museum’s “ArtZeum.” It’s art without the “don’t touch” signs—and adults will enjoy the rotating exhibitions upstairs, too.

If the fam is ready for more, check out the Oatland Island Wildlife Center. This under-rated fave features shaded trails that wind through natural habitats filled with native animals like bobcats, foxes, owls, and even alligators. It’s part zoo and part nature hike.

  • Sandcastles & Sea Breezes on Tybee Island
While dealers and associate members are soaking up education, families can be soaking up the sun, which is just a 30-minute drive from downtown. Tybee Island makes for a great day trip or quick afternoon jaunt.

Yes, everyone is aware of the beach, so if you are craving more, check out the Tybee Island Lighthouse for sweeping coastal views and a bit of history.

  • Sunset Dinner Cruise on the River
GIADA knows that convention isn’t just for our dealers! That’s why this year we are featuring a family-friendly sunset dinner cruise on the Georgia Queen on Thursday night. The 3 hour cruise will be fun for all and includes some of the most spectacular scenery that Savannah has to offer. The cruise is included in your registration!

The GIADA Convention & Expo is serious about your business but also offers an unparalleled opportunity to make memories that stick with your family. We hope to see you in July!
