More GIADA Convention Highlights: Convention Grand Banquet and Awards

The GIADA’s 68th Annual Convention Grand Banquet and Awards was a night filled with celebration, recognition, and appreciation for the outstanding individuals in the automotive industry. Held recently, this prestigious event honored several remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions to the association and the industry as a whole.
- One of the highlights of the evening was the induction of Kimberly New into the Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to the automotive industry. Kimberly New’s accomplishments and commitment to excellence have truly set her apart.
- Another notable award recipient was David Johnson, who was honored as the Quality Dealer winner. This award recognizes dealers who have consistently demonstrated outstanding professionalism, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction. David Johnson’s dedication to providing exceptional service and quality vehicles has made him a true role model in the industry.
- Laurie Higgins was recognized with the Dennis Pope Achievement Award, acknowledging her remarkable accomplishments and contributions to the Association. Kate Christianson received the Auxiliary Appreciation Award, highlighting her invaluable support and dedication to the association’s auxiliary efforts.
- Jason Reaves was honored as the recipient of the Wheel, Eagle and Crystal Eagle awards, recognizing his exceptional achievements and commitment to excellence in obtaining memberships. We also want to thank Jason for acting as moderator for the entire event, as well as organizing our outstanding dealer education for this year’s convention.
- The President’s Award, a prestigious accolade, was presented to Larry Carter, acknowledging his support of sons Ben and Jack and helping them open their own dealership.
The evening also included a special VIP table for GIADA’s distinguished guests. These longtime board members of GIADA were honored for their unwavering devotion and sacrifices made for the betterment of the association. A thoughtful and special Thank You goes out to Mr. Claude Rainwater, Mr. Dennis Pope, Mrs. Sandra Gresham, Mr. and Mrs. Sherold Salmon, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lewallen, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter.
The event would not have been possible without the support of the exhibitors and sponsors, whose contributions were acknowledged and appreciated. Their involvement played a crucial role in making the convention a resounding success.
To conclude the evening on a high note, an after-party dance was held, providing attendees with an opportunity to celebrate, network, and enjoy the festivities. At one point Amy Bennett had a conga line going with over 30 people dancing the night away! It was a blast for both adults and kids!
