Executive Director’s Update: Sept and Oct

Amy Bennett

The past several weeks have shown just how important it is for Georgia’s independent dealers to stay engaged and connected.

In September, along with several board members, we represented GIADA in Washington, D.C. at the NIADA National Policy Conference, where dealers from across the country met with policymakers about issues affecting our industry. Those conversations are important because they put real dealer concerns directly in front of the people shaping policy.

Recently, we also had a very productive meeting with AuctionAccess. As a result, AuctionAccess agreed to extend its timeframe by 45 days, giving dealers additional time to complete the process needed to gain access to auctions.

In October, GIADA held a successful Board of Directors meeting, with many board members also meeting with their Georgia state representatives and senators. Building those relationships strengthens our voice at the state level and helps lawmakers better understand the needs of independent dealers.

Whether we are working in Washington, at the Georgia Capitol or directly with industry partners, GIADA’s goal remains the same: to advocate for our members, remove obstacles and help Georgia dealers succeed.
