How to stay ahead in a rapidly changing industry: GIADA Delivers Top Continuing Education in Independent Automobile Dealership Industry

The Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (GIADA) is a leader in providing state-mandated continuing education that is both updated and future-focused. With a series of usually sold-out in person classes across the state of Georgia, GIADA utilizes top speakers to deliver required CE content, as well as cutting edge topics.

AI and Protections

One of the most popular segments in GIADA’s continuing education (CE) class covers the use of free and low-cost AI tools. Using AI, dealers improve sales decisions and design a more engaging customer experience, while also better predicting consumer behavior.

Protecting customer data is paramount when working with AI. ith dealers leaning more heavily on digital technology to gather data and safeguard customer data, federal protections are an important focus area in the CE content. Dealers, under the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Safeguards Rule, must take responsibility of a complete information security program and maintain it.

Insurance, Legal Regulation and Risk Management

Another important aspect of GIADA’s continuing education covers insurance and legal compliance. Dealers are educated on developments in garage liability insurance policies and the various components of dealer bonds, and how to create Finance and Insurance (F&I) products that customers demand in line with regulatory requirements.

Legal experts walk you through common compliance pitfalls, including advertising accuracy, disclosure requirements and warranty obligations. The program also covers changing fair lending practices and the documentation required to ensure dealers have a mechanism for defending against disputes. Every day the regulatory landscape is shifting and these classes provide the key information dealers need.

TOPs and Titling: Streamlining Operations

Knowledge of the Georgia Title and Registration System (TOPs) and Electronic Title Registration (ETR) tools is critical in all car dealerships. GIADA’s CE programs are built on a practical approach to the management of these systems. The course covers common mistakes related to title and registration, the process of documentation and the management of complex sales transactions (out-of-state titles, liens and salvage). As Georgia further transforms its title systems to be ELT in nature, keeping current is part and parcel to the smooth functioning of operations.

Georgia’s Regulation: Navigating the State Regulatory System

Regulations for dealers are constantly changing, and GIADA professionals with real experience share with attendees what they have learned through industry experience. The CE content includes lot requirements, signage laws, odometer disclosures and buyer guides. The program also includes what could lead to regulatory investigations and shares how these risks can be handled with effectiveness.

Georgia dealers may take GIADA’s in-person or online continuing education course. The online version of the training program, with 10 courses, is flexible, and in-person teaching enables networking and face-to-face time with experts. All courses are approved by the Georgia State Board and fulfill the six-hour CE requirement for the renewal of a dealer license.
