As we enter January, we also enter a new year filled with opportunity for independent dealers and the used car market. The challenges of recent years have demanded resilience, adaptability, and discipline. Those same qualities will be essential as we look ahead and position our businesses for long term success through 2026.
Our industry continues to change. Consumer expectations remain high, inventory decisions require greater precision, and profitability depends on strong operational fundamentals. Independent dealers have always succeeded by staying close to their customers and responding quickly to market conditions. As this year begins, it is critical to focus on buying right, managing inventory carefully, refining pricing strategies, and delivering a transparent and trustworthy customer experience.
Planning for the future starts now. Dealers who succeed in 2026 will be those who commit today to data driven decision making, stronger digital strategies, and well trained teams. Equally important is staying connected through GIADA. Our association exists to support collaboration, shared knowledge, and advocacy for independent dealers. When members engage with one another, the entire industry becomes stronger.
This year, I encourage you to set clear goals, measure performance consistently, and remain confident in the value independent dealers bring to their communities. We provide access, choice, and personalized service, and that role continues to matter in a changing automotive marketplace.
